Internet Links
These are external sites, we have no control over their content. They are mostly good resources and should be of interest. The media section has some useful links if you are trying to keep track of breaking news. Most of these sites have links pages that lead to other web sites. It is good to link ? !
Marian Links:
http://www.udayton.edu/mary/marypage21.html This is a superb Marian resource, try to set aside an hour or so to explore the site.
http://www.udayton.edu/mary/infomenu.html#dogmas This page leads to many others of interest.
http://www.udayton.edu/mary/pastoral.html This is a list of Marian organisations in the USA.
God bless Fr Roten and his colleagues for their sterling work in providing this valuable Internet Resource. I have given 3 points of access to facilitate entry as the site layout is Byzantian.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blessed_Virgin_Mary This is an interesting concept, an online encyclopaedia developed by the readership. There are lots of links as befits a growing Net Behemoth! Feel free to add to the growth of this particular section.
http://www.lourdes-france.org English version of the official site. Get organised, and while visiting, wave to your relatives via the web cam at the shrine, then get everybody praying! Use the Net and your mobile phone while you act as a real time proxy at the shrine for others. Pray across the continents for world peace, pray for the intentions of our Holy Mother. It does work!
http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/congregations/cfaith/ Vatican documents on Fatima. Copies of originals are depicted online, including the third secret. You can access the rest of the Vatican site from here. This would appear to be the final word on what was imparted by Our Lady to Lucia.
http://www.santuario-fatima.pt This is the official website of the Fatima Shrine and it is good.
http://www.knock-shrine.ie this is the official Knock Shrine site and is well worth a visit. Margaret had a fulfilling pilgrimage there. If you are interested in St Patrick and are ‘fit’ then a pilgrimage to Lough Derg may be of interest http://www.loughderg.org/
http://www.garabandal.org Garabandal is not recognised officially by the Church. This is one of a number of sites that organises pilgrimages to the village. Also look at http://www.garabandal.com/ where there is content of interest. The Links page gives web addresses of other centres internationally.
http://www.medjugorje.org This is the ‘official’ site of the controversial Balkans apparition. The apparition is not officially recognised by the Vatican. Look at
http://www-cs-students.stanford.edu/~marco/medjugorje this is a complete resource regarding past Medjugorje messages.
http://www.lavang.co.uk this is part of a Vietnamese language site for Vietnamese based in the UK, some parts, like this page, are in English. Visit La Vang and show solidarity with the oppressed faithful in Vietnam! ‘Little’ people on pilgrimage can accomplish great things! Currently, if you search the Net, you will not find an official “Our Lady of La Vang” site, only sites set up by devout ex-pats. La Vang is officially recognised as a place of pilgrimage.
http://www.zeitun-eg.org this is a huge resource with much on Coptic religious practice and tradition. Chill out as you listen to the midi files. Our Lady blesses the author of this site. Look at the accounts of her apparitions at Zeitun and Assuit where she appears to all present on occasion. Highly recommended.
Media Links. – Information and Disinformation:
“Be cautious in what you believe - seeing sometimes is not seeing, hearing can be distorted, senses deceive, words generate their own blindness - man’s thought can be led astray by hidden subconscious imperatives and false conscious ‘reason’. Try to relax in the Spirit and then get God’s take on things. You will be very surprised at what you discover within and without your self. Then believe fearlessly and grow in God.” Thoughts of the Struggler.
http://news.bbc.co.uk The BBC is generally considered impartial.
http://www.drudgereport.com good for breaking news. Drudge will pick up news items that the other American networks will ignore.
http://www.kcna.co.jp Many millions of people are fed this information. Frightening is it not? Much prayer needed for the peoples of Korea and the region.
http://www.reuters.com Reuters is simply the best news agency in my opinion, fast, accurate, dispassionate, analytical and always impressive. There is also a very good financial news section.
http://www.sky.com/skynews/home reasonable balanced news presentation. Breaking news content is good.
http://www.japantoday.com gives a Japanese outlook on things. Some of the articles will fascinate and mystify the Western mind. Japan must stop killing whales and dolphins.
Creation in crisis – some links:
http://www.oceancreation.com gives our view of how the Oceans should be preserved, protected and policed. The mystical aspects of Ocean Creation will be developed in time. Do not hold your breath as it has taken me 7 years to get round to reinstating this links page!
http://www.sunsinger.org/global/ Native American website with comprehensive links.
http://www.acsonline.org American Cetacean Society web resource.
http://www.underwatertimes.com/index.htm useful news resource with news reports gathered from all round the world. You will end up checking this site every day!
Look at http://www.underwatertimes.com for whale stories.
Religious News and Resources:
http://www.cathnews.com this is a very informative Australian site that deals with news of interest to Catholics. They are open to criticism and are very polite when they reply to e-mails. You can subscribe to their daily e-letter Monday to Friday.
http://www.scmo.org/Default.asp this is the official media office of the Bishop’s Conference of Scotland. You can subscribe to get breaking news of relevance to the Scottish Catholic Church.
http://www.rickross.com This is a very important site, excellent resource for those involved in, researching, or escaping from cults.
Marian Apparition and Messages sites:
I would advise referring to http://www.udayton.edu/mary/resources/aprindex.html for a sensible list of mainstream apparition sites, past and present.
We, Love’s Embrace, cannot endorse any alleged Marian messages and experiences claimed on behalf of any other individuals or any other groups. The investigation of any such claim, and subsequent rebuttal or acceptance of such, is most properly done by the local bishop, who is the Church, and, whose final decision is binding. I would caution against accepting as bona fide any sites of whatever religious persuasion that claim that natural disasters are a punishment from God on His children. God loves all His children. Further, I would urge that common sense is exercised when dealing with sites whose authors are fixated and obsessed with ‘signs’ such as famines, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, freak weather, perceived divine resemblances on inanimate objects, moving or weeping statues etcetera, then linking all of these with the claim that we are living in the ‘end times’. Shun the incredible naivety and folly of the ‘doom and gloom’ merchants! Pray they find and realise their life in Christ Jesus. Each one amongst us lives from beat to beat of his or her heart, we are creatures of the present, this time, often overburdened with the past, who move into an uncertain future, ever hopeful of and trusting in our Heavenly Father Who is all Love and Mercy.
